Cleaning and Laundry

Avoiding harsh chemicals in your cleaners is especially important for the surfaces you eat off of and skin sensitivities. We often think that these chemicals are necessary to “get the job done” but that’s not the case. I have found the alternatives to be just as effective, if not more.

Avoid

  • Avoid signal words including CAUTION, WARNING, DANGER, HAZARDOUS WASTE
  • Also warnings of EYE, SKIN or RESPIRATORY IRRITATION
  • Directions recommending rubber gloves, mask, ventilation and instructions for hazardous waste disposal
  • Warnings to keep away from children
  • Ingredients including: petroleum based, antibacterial agents, parabens, phthalates, SLS, phenoxyethanol, alcohol ethoxylates, synthetic or botanical fragrances, pine, lemon and orange oils (react with outside air to form toxic particles) and synthetic preservatives such as methylisothiazolinonem, phenoxyethanol, sodium benzoate, potassium sorbate and benzisotiazolinone

Seek

  • Human safe
  • Plant and mineral based
  • Non-toxic
  • Free of synthetic fragrances, preservatives and alcohols
  • Non-GMO
  • Biodegradable.
